Tuition assistance - because music is for everybody!

We don’t want any family to miss our classes for financial reasons. When you recommend us to your friends, that’s worth gold  to us! So we offer a number of options to make it easier to manage this expense. Requesting tuition assistance is simple; just send us an email letting us know which of the following options will work best for you; we'll respond with details for you to make your choice. 

Here are some possibilities for bartering in exchange for reduced tuition. Email us for the details.

Spruce up the classroom before the session starts

This may involve touching up dings in classroom walls, sprucing up well loved instruments, making sure the space is child-safe, etc. 

Special events

Sign up for a time slot with us in our Heartland Music Together booth at a local festival. You’ll supervise children’s play with instruments, and hand out brochures and other free materials to parents. You don’t have to do any hard selling, just share your experience about our classes, and enjoy being with children and their grownups. Dates are available throughout the year. This is a lot of fun, and you're never in charge of the booth by yourself. This option isn't available for every semester.

Deliver brochures

Drop in at pediatricians, children’s clothing stores, coffee shops, and any other places you can think of where parents of young children go, and ask to leave a few brochures at their front counter. No selling involved, and you can do this while you’re doing your own errands. We'll give you brochures and plastic brochure stands.

Post about us online

Help spread the word weekly about our classes by posting about your experience in our classes in online communities. Invite your playgroups and mom's groups to experience a free demonstration class. A tailor-made opportunity for those comfortable with online networking!

Your own talents…

We've had some great barters over the years! Here are just a few of the wonderful gifts people have given us in exchange for class tuition:

• Document our classes with your professional photography or video talents
• Bring a friend to class! For each friend that registers you get $25 your session.
• Helping or donating food/items to special Heartland events

We also offer two scholarship opportunities:

• The Rebecca Susan Reed Memorial Scholarship - for a child with, but not limited to, a diagnosis of Down syndrome.
• The Thelma Platoff Klein Memorial Scholarship - for a grandparent who brings their grandchild to class.
