Welcome to Heartland Music Together!
This document contains basic information about who to contact with questions, date and schedule information, and more. You don't have to stick this on your refrigerator, because it'll always be here on the website.
We are three!
Three of us are now sharing the fun of sharing music with
you! We are:
Miriam Klein, Director, certified Music Together
® teacher
Karen Hild, registered Music Together teacher
Krista Lange, registered Music Together teacher
Krista and Karen co-taught classes with me during the fall
semester and are now flying solo. Krista teaches Tuesday evenings in Middletown,
and Saturday mornings in the Highlands. Karen teaches Monday and Friday
mornings in the Highlands, Monday afternoons in Middletown, and Thursday mornings in St
Matthews (Calvin Church).
We’ve loved working together, and we’re still working as a
team as we brainstorm new teaching ideas and ways to have fun in class. I must confess that when I think about our expanded teaching staff, I mentally do a little Snoopy dance. Our teachers are so awesome!
How to contact us
Miriam Klein - My
office number is (502) 491-3131. Because
I have a home office, feel free to reach me in the evenings at this
number. I’m comfortable with calls up
till 10:00 pm - sometimes it’s easier to make a call after children are
asleep. You can also reach me on my cell
phone: (502) 558-0345. Before class, my cell phone is the best number to use,
and you can call as early as 7:30 am.
Karen Hild –
Karen’s home number is (502) 317-1362.
You can call her at this number any time. Karen prefers not to publish her cell phone
number, so if you need to reach her just before class, contact me and I’ll
relay the message. Please contact me if you need Karen's email address - she is happy to share it with you, but not with the entire internet.
Krista Lange –
Krista’s home number is (502) 425-1101.
You can call her up till 10 pm at this number. Please contact me if you need Krista's cell phone or email address.
Who to contact about…
- Scheduling a makeup – I’ll have the master
calendar for make-ups, so please contact me instead of your class teacher to
schedule a makeup.
- Class dynamics or questions about what we’re
doing in class – talk to your teacher first, but feel free to contact me any
time.
- Payment or registration questions – contact me
- Dates and schedule questions – ask any of us, or
check on the website.
Feel free to contact me at any time with any questions,
concerns, feedback, etc.
Dates
The week of March 10 will be our 10th week and
official last week of class. However,
the following week we’ll offer an additional 11th week of classes as
a bonus class/ make-up class/ bring-a-friend demonstration class. This 11th week is open to
everybody, whether you’ve missed a day of classes or not. Following the 11th week, we’ll
roll right into our spring semester – the Maracas collection. Spring classes will end the week of May
27-June 2.
Classes will run as scheduled regardless of any holidays
that might fall on a class day. If you
need to miss a class for any reason, you’re welcome to make it up by visiting
one that meets at a different day. However,
I do ask that you schedule your makeup in advance rather than just dropping in
to class. The schedule for all classes
this semester is included in this letter.
Snow policy
If the Jefferson County Public Schools cancel classes due to
weather, then Music Together classes will be canceled as well. If JCPS has a delayed start, then we will
probably have classes. I’ll make a
decision based on the weather in the morning, and I’ll post a message on my
office voice mail (491-3131). If you
ever have doubts about if class is in session, feel free to call either the
number above, or my cell phone (558-0345).
If Music Together classes are canceled for any reason, I’ll
make every effort to contact you by phone and by email. Please make sure I have your current phone
number and/or cell phone number so I can reach you.
If classes are canceled due to weather, the extra 11th
week will become a general class make-up, so we’ll still get a complete 10-week
semester.
Class schedules
For the most current information on class schedules,
visit the Classes page. Please call in advance to
schedule a make-up – don’t just drop in to a class!
Thank you!
Thank you for choosing to be a part of Heartland Music
Together! We couldn’t do this without
you!
I’m so excited to see our program continue to grow, but I’m
a touch wistful that I’ll no longer get to see every family on a weekly basis. I hope to visit every class at some point in
the semester, so I’ll still get to see you even if I’m not your class teacher. I’ll enjoy meeting you if we haven't already met – and
Krista and Karen are great to hug too!
Happy music-making in our new year!
Miriam Klein
