Classes meet once a week for 45 minutes. (Big Kids class is one hour.) Make-ups are available if you miss a class. We offer babies-only classes for babies 0-8 months, mixed-age classes for infants through age 5 with a parent or caregiver, and Big Kids classes for children ages 5-7.

Tuition for the spring session includes two professional recorded CDs and a beautifully illustrated songbook with family activity suggestions. (Go to tuition and fees page) Classes include parent education to help adults understand and enhance their child's music development. Families will also receive a quarterly e-newsletter and access to the national informative website. New families receive a DVD and booklet, "Music Together® At Home: Helping Your Child Grow Musically"; a guide for parents and caregivers.

Note about our locations: Although many of our classes are held in a church setting, we are not affiliated with any church or religious organization. We welcome all families!

Class Descriptions
Show classes for:
Mixed-age class (0-5)

In a mixed-age class, children from infancy through kindergarten gather together with their parents and caregivers to enjoy the musical fun. Mixed-age classes create a family-like setting, where children can learn from each other as well as from adults. Mixed-age classes allow children to progress at their own rate, and let siblings share the class experience.

Click here for more information about our mixed-age classes.

Babies class (0-8 months)

This is a class for babies 8 months or younger, accompanied by their parent or caregiver. We'll show you ways to interact and play with your baby using music, and help you understand and recognize your baby's musical development. Songs and activities are especially chosen to help parents interact with their not-yet mobile child.

Note: babies are welcome and cherished in our mixed age classes as well! Some parents love the extra education and support in a babies class, and some parents prefer to see how a range of children play with the music in a mixed age class. Babies also enjoy watching the toddlers and older children in a mixed-age class.

Whichever class you choose, expect a fun and interactive time with your baby!

"Littles" class, for ages 2 and under

This is a mixed-age class with a smaller age range, for families that prefer a less-stimulating environment for their child. Classes are limited to ages 0-2. In all other respects, this is the same as a regular mixed-age class.

Big Kids Class (ages 5-7)

Music Together Big Kids®™ is a 60-minute class geared to the interests and abilities of 5-, 6-, and 7-year-olds. The program blends the elements of Music Together that parents and children love with new activities, skills, and challenges that are developmentally appropriate for this age group. Big Kids classes lay the foundation for Basic Music Literacy, complementing music instruction in school or instrument lessons, and leading to a lifetime of joyful music-making.

Supportive family class

Offered at Down Syndrome of Louisville, supportive family classes are for children with Down Syndrome as well as their typically-developing siblings or family members. These classes will follow the same curriculum as our regular mixed-age classes, but a slightly smaller class size and relaxed pacing make them ideal for children with special needs. We'll also offer support and information that will be specifically helpful to parents and caregivers of children with Down Syndrome. As in all our classes, supportive family classes welcome children with a range of ages, temperaments, and ability levels.

Although these classes are a particularly good fit for children with Down Syndrome, we welcome children with special needs in all of our classes.
